Maria Leonor "Leni" Gerona Robredo (born April 23, 1964) is a Filipino lawyer and politician who served as the 14th Vice President of the Philippines from 2016 to 2022.
Early Life and Education: Born in Naga City, Camarines Sur, she obtained her economics degree from the University of the Philippines Diliman and her law degree from the University of Nueva Caceres.
Legal Career: Before entering politics, she worked as a lawyer, primarily providing legal services to marginalized sectors and advocating for human rights.
Entry into Politics: Her political career began after the death of her husband, Jesse Robredo, who was the Secretary of the Interior and Local Government.
Congressional Service: She served as the Representative of Camarines Sur's 3rd District in the House of Representatives from 2013 to 2016.
